"As a new manager, Marlo Goldsteins interpersonal communication skills trainings provided me with the opportunity to learn and practice skills that I can use daily to effectively express my opinions, expectations and frustrations to my staff, coworkers and even my boss. The trainings were very interactive, so that I was able to learn from Marlo as well as my co-workers about listening and reflecting. Marlo's ease communicating in Spanish provided me with a good example of utilizing the communication techniques in Spanish. I often catch myself as well as my staff saying, Cuando tu me dijiste eso, yo me senti. I would highly recommend Marlo's trainings to any agency that requires teamwork, supervision and collaboration."

“I have been doing training/facilitating for over 20 years. I have also had the opportunity to attend countless training sessions and I can say that Marlo Goldstein is, without a doubt, one of my favorite trainers. I am the Staff Development Specialist for the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Public Safety. We are an accredited agency and each year, all staff [140 ] are required to attend 24 hours of in-service training. Needless to say, whenever you say mandatory and training in the same sentence, people are resistant. I contracted with Marlo in 2005 and 2006 to conduct 13 half-day sessions and she has been a favorite of the staff each year. All of us are going to miss not having her with us in 2007.
Marlo is professional in the content of her course materials and she delivers them in a lighthearted manner that makes learning fun. She is adaptable to the personalities in each session and can adjust or ad-lib on a dime. Nothing seems to faze her to get her off kilter, which is a valuable skill with any trainer or facilitator. You will definitely get your money’s worth if you hire or contract with her for her services.

Marlo is an exceptionally gifted trainer. She brings a rare combination of self and social awareness, creativity, intellect, and group management skills. I especially appreciated the purposeful role play she created for our group -- it allowed us to experience the concepts in a realistic and fun way.

It is a pleasure to write on behalf of Marlo Goldstein, in recognition of the outstanding service she has provided to the William and Ida Friday Continuing Education Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Last October, Ms. Goldstein conducted a half-day training workshop on conflict resolution for the entire staff of the Friday Center that was the best professional development program of this type we have ever experienced. The program was extremely well conceived and planned, with goals that were clear and appropriate to the situation, and activities that were relevant, engaging, and fun. Despite the large number of people in the group, Ms. Goldstein was able to connect with all members of the group in a meaningful way and to make sure that everyone remained fully involved in the day’s activities. Ms. Goldstein provided a very thoughtful treatment of the topic of conflict resolution, and left the group with useful approaches that could readily be applied to the kinds of situations that arise regularly in the course of our work.
Ms. Goldstein also served as the instructor for a course our center offered to the general public in the spring of 2006 through our Professional Development Series. Her course, entitled "Communication and Conflict Management Skills," was designed to be of benefit to a variety of working professionals in our local community. It was very well received and was given very positive evaluations by the diverse members of the class. Participants commented on the strength of Ms. Goldstein’s teaching abilities, her ability to engage her audience in effective learning activities, and her skills in encouraging students to interact and learn from one another.
My colleagues and I have found Ms. Goldstein to be professional, personable, and responsive in meeting the varied needs of our students as well as our staff. It has been a pleasure to work with her, and I would highly recommend her for other teaching situations calling for her considerable talents.
